‘Life in unexpected places’ is a series of 4 illustrations, commissioned for Lopdell House, Titirangi, Auckland.

I’ve been working on a smaller project creating charming worlds for my young daughter, bringing life to ordinary objects as if by magic those objects are home to imaginary beings.
This delightful series is the progression of that project, and consists of villages, botanical elements, aquatic life and entertainment parks, claiming place among dreamy desserts.

The fountain pen process is very slow, but beautifully meditative and incredibly rewarding as I can see every little ink mark left on the paper.
There are 45 existing limited edition prints of each illustration.
